Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has expressed delight at Diogo Dalot after his encouraging debut in the club’s 3-0 victory over Young Boys in the UEFA Champion’s League on Wednesday night.

The Red Devils landing Dalot from Porto last summer in fee in the region of £17 million. According to reports, the player is to provide cover for aging right-back Antonio Valencia.

Dalot featured for Porto 8 times last season before Jose Mourinho snapped him at the 20th Old Trafford.

Dalot debut was impressive as the youngster helped the Red Devils to ease to a 3-0 win against Young Boys in Switzerland during the mid-week.

The teenager completed 85 percent of his attempted pass, finished with two successful dribbles and completed a tackle during the encounter.

Manchester United legend Paul Scholes believes that the youngster has made a promising start to his career with the club.

Scholes in an interview with BT Sports, said: “I think it’s a really good start from him”. “Going forward he looks fantastic. He looks quick enough. It’s a great start.”

Manchester United are yet to lift the Champions League in over decade since the last won the continental showpiece against Chelsea in 2008. The Red Devils however, have reached the finale of the showpiece in 2009 and 2011 where the lost to Spanish side Barcelona.

Next for the Manchester club is a game against Wolves in the weekend.
