Juventus Fullback Mattia de Sciglio has responded that Old Lady teammate Cristiano Ronaldo deserves to clinch the Balon D’or prize.

According to reports, Portuguese playmaker Crsitiano Ronaldo and Argentine prodigy Lionel Messi both missed out on the Balon D’or three man shortlist with three out of Kylain Mbappe, Antoine Greizmann, Luka Modric and Rafael Varane in hunt for the prestigious individual prize.

De Sciglio in his recent press statement with Sky Sport, has expressed shock that the former Manchester United and Real Madrid forward is not among the final three player that will compete for the accolade. Sciglio is of the opinion that the Portuguese playmaker deserves the accolade considering his contributions last season.

He said: “Out of the Golden Ball podium? I do not know what to say, I do not have to answer, the only thing I can say is that yesterday when I came back to the Continassa, I saw a Cristiano on the pitch. “He trained as he does every day, as a true professional, giving the maximum.”

Cristiano Ronaldo currently has 37 goals under his account for the 2018 football year with 9 games left to go. The Portuguese has lifted the award five times in his football career and was gunning for the sixth.
