Super Eagle’s Kelechi Iheanacho bagged brace as Leicester city ended pre-season schedule with a 2-1 victory over Ligue 1 side Lille on Saturday. The Nigerian seems to be getting playtime with the recent departure of Algerian Riyadh Mahrez to Manchester city earlier in the summer.

The Nigeria have since then began to repay the faith placed on him by the manager as he has scored 4 goals in his last 3 matches.

The Foxes went down in the game as early as the 4th minute following a long range effort Mothiba, but were back on level terms ten minutes after the break thanks a beautiful header from Iheanacho. The Nigeria was on the act again as he gifted the club the lead by converting his chances after been picked out by Chilwell.

Ndidi in his post-match interview with Leicester city TV praised his fellow countryman while admitting that he was shocked the Nigerian could score with his head. He said: ”He (Kelechi) is getting there because we work every day in training. I was even surprised he scored with the head because, just yesterday we practiced just me and him, just playing and then try to practice. It was good.

”In the previous games also, he was good, he scored in those games for the confidence and I hope he takes the confidence to the next game, not just him but all the players.”

Kelechi Iheanacho who scored in the club’s last friendlies against Valencia and Udinese is expected to feature when the Foxes visit the theatre of dreams on Friday.
