News has it that MANCHESTER UNITED will soon be granted the chance to sign their centre back interest for Toby Alderweireld after it was reported that Tottenham are yet to complete their new stadium.

The 29-year Belgian has been in contract talks since beginning of last season for Tottenham to meet up with his demands but nothing has materialized. It has been rumored that Manchester United, Chelsea and Paris Saint Germain have all been chasing the Belgium full back.

The development made Tottenham Coach Mauricio Pochettino not to select him mostly part of last season. Tobi has arguably been one of the sort after Centre backs in Europe after he left Southtampton for Tottenham and has established a perfect partnership with his compatriot Jan Vertonghen since then. Report has it that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has decided to accept demands for the player in order not to lose him for free.

His current contract will expire at the end of 2018/2019 premier league season but there is a clause in his contract which will allow him leave for total of £25m even if his contract is renewd. Manchester United have tabled a whooping sum of £55m for the defender but the Spurs chairman values the defender at £75m.

Notwithstanding, according to Manchester Evening News, Manchester United has chosen to wait and see if the amount will reduce. News according to MEN states that Tottenham new stadium with 62,062 capacity was under estimated.

It reported that it has increased from £400m to £850m and it is very unlikely that Daniel Levy will lose out on a potential £30m as a result. It is believed that £75m for 30-year old Alderweireld is too much as his best years are almost gone.

The reason behind Tottenham slapping such amount was they believe Alderweireld is in the same level with Virgil van Dijk who Liverpool bought almost same amount. Players like Clement Lenglet, Raphael Varane and Jerome Boateng are all seen as alternatives incase United fail to sign the Belgium defender due to his price tag.
