Maurizio Sarri and his Chelsea club have switched attention to Zenit Saint Petersburg midfielder Paredes after being told by Cagliari that Barella is not for sale.
Chelsea wanted 21yr old Barella to replace departed Cesc Fabregas as a backup for midfielder Jorginho, but the Italian side Caglairi seems uninterested in the deal. Cagliari sporting director Mario Passetti said: “He’ll stay for at least the next six months. After that we’ll what happens. Selling him isn’t one of our objectives.”
Parades is reportedly next on Chelsea’s wishlist with the 24yr old Argentine reported to have agreed a four and half year deal worth £80,000 a week.
Chelsea so have bids of both £26.8 million and £31.2 million for the player, but why his club is trying to rebuff the offers, media experts have backed the deal to go through.
Sarri is also looking for a Striker with Higuain’s case very complicated. The club according to report keeps huge reservation about spending big on the 31yr old Argentine, with loan offer suggested.
However, Why Sarri wants the Argentine, Chelsea is reportedly considering Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson though the player could cost as high as £50 million.
However, football finance expert Kieran Maguire believes that Paredes arrival will force some players out of Chelsea. In an interview with Starsports, he said: “Cesc Fabregas became a squad player rather than a first choice. “So I think he [Paredes] could shake things up. “Their biggest issue is Kante and Jorginho. “Trying to play those two in the same team is like playing [Frank] Lampard and [Steven] Gerrard in the same team. “It doesn’t quite work. “So if he does come in, Sarri may have to let one of the others go.”
