Aaron Ramsey has continued to be linked with a move to Chelsea but the deal seems unlikely to materialize. The Gunners midfielder refused to pen down a new deal with club side Arsenal last summer, and this seemed to have alerted several clubs with Chelsea reportedly topping the list.

Ramsey’s contract with the Gunners expires next summer, and the midfielder could depart on Bosman terms. Arsenal aware of the realities of the player leaving for free has allowed potential buyers with Manchester United, Chelsea and Juventus topping the list.

Chelsea launched an initial £30 million bid in the last window but the North London club rebuffed the offer for the Welsh international. This pushed the Blues into making a late moves to acquire Mateo Kovacic from Real Madrid on loan. Chelsea since the summer have been linked with the Wales international, and are touted to land the midfielder in January by the media.

However, with the recent surge in form from Ross Barkley and Reuben Loftus-Cheek, Chelsea seems to have a second mindset towards acquiring the player. According to Star as cited BBC Sports, the impressive performance of both Loftus-Cheek and Ross Barkley is reported to be giving Maurizio Sarri selection headache and the Italian has no intention of bringing in another midfielder.

Meanwhile Spanish midfielder Cesc Fabregas will have to wait till New Year to reopen talks with Chelsea management. The former Arsenal midfielder according to Evening Standards has refused to rule out a return to boyhood club Arsenal in future.
