Chelsea according to reports made a move for Inter defender Skriniar amidst interest from Manchester United.

Maurizio Sarri has always disclosed his plans to land a defender having missed out on Danielle Rugani and Mattias Caldara in the summer. The Italian tactician acquired Jorginho from Napoli, Kepa Arrizabalaga from Athletic Bilbao while Matteo Kovacic arrived on loan from Real Madrid.

Despite all the acquisition, the Italian tactician missed out on signing a forward and a defender, and is believed to be not satisfied with his options in central defense. Garry Cahill transfer speculation has not helped issues with the English Centre-back heavily linked with a move away from the Bridge.

The Sun reports that Sarri wants the signing of Skriniar but faces intense competition from rivals Manchester United, as Jose Mourinho also targets the player valued at £70 million to solve the Red Devils’ woes at the back.

Inter fully aware of the huge interest coming from England for the player has attempted to extend his stay with them, but Skriniar according to report is frustrated with the club’s inability to meet his wage demands.

Skriniar is in his second season with Inter after he was signed from Sampdoria for £15.8m last year.
