Chelsea according to reports are considering making an offer for Manchester United’s forward Anthony Martial when the January transfer window reopen.
The London club have been keen to sign the France international since last summer. Media reports have it that the Blues almost snapped the former Monaco forward in a player plus cash deal with Willian last summer but United’s Vice Chairman Ed Woodward vetoed the deal to keep the Frenchman at the theatre of dreams.
The player in the current season has gone to be a regular performer for a below par Manchester United team, and have been linked heavily with a departure from the theatre of dreams with Juventus and PSG touted as his destination.
Manchester United has tried to commit the forward with an improved new deal in a bid to wade off interest, but the deal has stalled. Martial’s current deal with the Old Trafford based club expires by 2020.
The Red Devils activated the one year extension option in his current deal after he rejected a contract extension.
Chelsea is reported to be monitoring the Frenchman’s situation at the Old Trafford, but will need to sell a player before the can acquire him.
