Coutinho has endured a difficult spell at the Camp Nou since his switch to the Catalonia club from Liverpool in the last winter window. The Brazilian international completed £142 million from Liverpool in the January of 2018 but the Brazilian have failed to cement his place as a regular starter at the Spanish club.

Reports have it that the former Liverpool international has fallen down the pecking order at the Camp Nou with Ernesto Valverde opting for Ousmann Dembele ahead of the midfielder.

Mundo Deportivo reports that Coutinho will not depart in the current transfer window, though the player could depart if Ernesto Valverde continue to sideline him. Coutinho is reportedly angry with his current situation at the Spanish club.

The 26-year-old was on target against Levante in the Copa del Rey in midweek but that was his first goal since October.

However, Coutinho is not prepared to quit a club he put so much effort into joining just yet.

Manchester United have been monitoring the player’s condition and has reportedly met his agent to broker a summer transfer deal.

Mundo Deportivo further disclosed that the Manchester club will have to splash the cash to meet up with his transfer fee which Barca paid to secure the player from Liverpool. The media house further suggest that Clauses inserted into his contract that potentially wouldn’t be triggered could cost the Reds up to £22m.
