Inter and Argentine forward Mario Icardi has been reported to be topping the wish list of Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich. The Russia Billionaire and Chelsea Oligarchy according to reports is willing to splash the cash to bring the Forward to the Bridge.
Chelsea have been linked with a host of forwards in the past weeks as Forwards Olivier Giroud and Alvaro Morata have failed to convince Chelsea trainer Maurizio Sarri of their quality. The London club have suffered as a result of their below par performance with Chelsea currently in fourth place in the Premier League despite a bright start to the 2018/2019 football season.
Sarri has tried to salvage the situation with the deployment of Eden Hazard in the target man role, but the 1-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in the first leg of the Carabao cup on Tuesday night summed it up.
While Sarri has insisted on Gonzalo Higuain and Callum Wilson in the January window, Abramovich, wants a long term solution and a high profile forward has identified Inter’s hit-man Icardi as the permanent solution.
The Inter Forward would not come cheap as the Seria A club is expected to demand £100 million for their star man. It remains to be seen whether Roman Abramovich will break the British record for the Icardi
