Defending Seria A champions Juventus has reportedly considered Chelsea left-back Emerson Palmeri as a possible January acquisition.

Chelsea signed the left-back in the January of 2018 from Roma for a reported £17.6 million primarily to provide competition for Spanish defender Marcos Alonso.

However since his arrival, the former AS Roma player has failed to show why he is a better defender to the Spaniard, with Emerson recording just 14 starts and four substitute appearance for the club.

Emerson has lacked quality playtime at Chelsea as a result of this and is believed to be interested in a move to rebuild his declining football reputation

However media handle Calciomercato reports that Juventus monitoring the Palmeri’s condition at Chelsea, is preparing to offer the player an exit route out of Chelsea and a return to the Seria A.

The report further reveals that Allegri is keen on signing a backup defender for his left-back Alex Sandro, and the 24yr old presents an affordable option the current stage.

Palmeri still has three and a half years left in his terms of agreement with Chelsea.

However, it remains to be seen whether Chelsea will agree to the deal given that there is no available option in the transfer window.
