Spanish club Real Madrid has reignited interest in Chelsea playmaker Eden Hazard with days to the January transfer window. The La liga club have been linked heavily with Eden Hazard since the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus last summer.

While Real Madrid have been keeping tabs with Eden Hazard, The Blues according to The Sun have considered making a move for Isco with Chelsea lining up £70 million for the Spanish international.

However recent reports have it that Real Madrid will be attempting to turn the deal. According to Spanish outlet El Gal Digital, Madrid President Fiorentino Perez is set to propose a swap deal to land Hazard.

He is willing to give up Isco AND £136m (€150m) for the 27-year-old. Isco has fallen out of favour this season. The 26-year-old has scored just two twice and chipped in with two assists in all competitions

Eden Hazard enters the last 18 months of his contract at Stamford Bridge, and talks over an extension seemed to have stalled.

Chelsea head coach Maurizio Sarri has been vocal on Hazard’s future, with the Italian beckoning on his star man to remain in west London.

He said: “I want Eden here, of course. “But I want him here if he wants to stay here. “The club is available to sign a new contract immediately, but it’s up to him if he wants to renew or nBookies Coral have made Chelsea favourites to sign Isco, cutting the odds of a move to Stamford Bridge from 3/1 to 6/4.

Coral spokesman John Hill told Starsport: “Isco has been linked with a move away from Real Madrid once again and we have been knocked over this morning on the Spanish international joining Chelsea who could be top of the queue to capture the talented midfielder.”
