Chelsea tactician Maurizio Sarri is reported to have joined in the transfer of Lyon’s Nabil Fekir, as he has engaged the Lyon player in a conversation. Maurizio Sarri has never hidden his desire to bring the France international to Stamford Bridge with the former Napoli manager reportedly meeting him last summer for a possible move.

According to The Sun, Fekir was close to sign for Liverpool before the World cup last summer, but the deal with the Merseyside based club failed to materialize and talks failed to resume.

Sarri has declared his intention on the player despite having to face stiff competition with European big boys Bayern Munich and Real Madrid. The UEFA Champions League duo are reported to be in the race for the signatures of the 2018 World Cup winner. However, the Sun believes that the Chelsea tactician can land the player considering the initiative he is utilizing.

The media platform, revealed that he has told Fekir he “would play a key role,” but competition for his signature will be intense, with Madrid and Bayern reported to have had him watched recently.

Fekir is not the only player on Sarri’s wish list as Seria A based footballers such as Suso, Piatek, Icardi and Cutrone are reportedly on his radar.
