Liverpool have reported joined rivals Manchester united, in the race for Real Madrid’s Matteo Kovacic according to reports. The Real Madrid have played second fiddle to Brazilian footballer Casemeiro, since joining from Inter Milan 2 years ago.
The Croatian midfielder have lacked at the Spanish capital with just 10 La liga starts last season with Luka Modric, Casemiero and Toni Kroos well ahead of him in the pecking order.
The English club seems to have been handed a boast in his chase, as media outlet Diario AS reports that the Croatian midfielder have alerted teammates and manager Julen Lopetegui of his plans of seeking a move away from the Bernebeu.
Real Madrid according to Spanish publication have reportedly placed a hefty £71 million tag on him, in a bid to wave of clubs from him. The los blancos is believed to be ready to sell him when replacements are acquired.
The uncertainty becomes whether Liverpool will push on with their ambitions on the player, considering their involvement so far in the summer transfer. The Merseyside club have already acquired Naby Keita and Fabinho this summer, but the addition of the Croatian international could create the desire competition for overall success of the club.
