Barcelona might have made a statement of their intentions in landing Chelsea forward Alvaro Morata when the January window kicks off. Alvaro Morata have been recently linked with a shock move to Barcelona in the January window after, falling out with Chelsea manager Muarizio Sarri.

However fellow countryman and Barcelona fullback Jordi Alba might have expressed the views of Barcelona player towards the possibility of the former Juventus and Real Madrid forward joining their side, as he believes the Spanish forward will be gladly welcomed at the Camp Nou.

Morata is a player that I appreciate a lot, he has been a top player for many years,” he said on Thursday.

“At the end, it’s the club’s [decision] if they want to sign him or not, as with any other player.

“If the rumours are true, he would be very welcome, as all the new players [are].”

Morata has only managed seven goals in 21 games in all competitions for Chelsea this season, after netting 15 in 48 in 2017-18. The Spaniard might have lost his starting berth to Frenchman Olivier Giroud after being left out of the matchday squad by Sarri in Chelsea’s victory Manchester City. The Spaniard have been described by the Italian as fragile centre-forward.
