Inter Milan dropped points yesterday as they were beaten 2-0 at Genoa to heap pressure on Spalletti though the under-fire coach insists there are no issues between him and the club heirachy. Inter boss Luciano Spalletti says it is up to the board to make decision concerning his future at the club while denying any possible broken down in relationship between him and the club’s hierarchy.
The Nerazzurri suffered a meek 2-0 defeat to Genoa on Saturday and could drop out of Serie A’s top four if Lazio triumph over Verona on Monday. Inter have won only a game out of their last 10 matches in all competitions, leaving their hopes of either silverware or a Champions League return in jeopardy and causing pressure to pile on Spalletti’s position.
 
The former Roma boss maintained that he has a good relationship with the management but accepts his position at the club will still reviewed. “The relationship isn’t creaking, but that doesn’t mean the club are not analyzing my work or that they don’t make decisions,” he told Rai Sport. “The board will assess me as normal. We are in a difficult position to make judgments because, during a season, there are more changes among coaches than journalists.” Andrea Ranocchia’s own goal gifted Genoa the lead before former Inter forward Goran Pandev sealed the three points in the second half at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris. “When it happens, it happens, and I can’t do much about it,” was the statement of Ranocchia who have never scored an own goal in his 185 matches prior to the match.
Ranocchia refused to blame the defeat on the absence of their key attackers with both Mauro Icardi and Ivan Perisic not playing the game. The Inter center back however emphasized on the need for the Nerazzurri side to work hard, focus on the next match putting in mind that their season is not over yet.
