Ahmed Musa has revealed why Nigeria must go for victory in Johannesburg next month. Nigeria actually needs four points from their remaining two games to ensure they participate the 2019 AFCON tournament in Cameroun.

Musa however has revealed that the Super Eagles must win at South Africa to make up for their 2-0 defeat to the Bafana-Bafana side last year.

Musa stated that the Nigerian team underrated the South Africa, bearing in mind that the Bafana-Bafana side as of then were yet to defeat Nigeria in a competitive game.

Nigerian team were eventually humbled 2-0 last year and this could have been the catalyst for their recent surge in form, and Musa believes a revenge at Johannesburg will be fitting and perfect.

The former Leicester City forward, who played barely 30 minutes when the Super Eagles meet the South African team, admitted that the Bafana-Bafana will be trying to get their qualification campaign back on track with a home victory.

Nevertheless, He is of the opinion that the recent back to back wins over Libya have placed the Super Eagles in pole position to qualify for the continental showpiece in Cameroun next year. He also believes that the urge for revenge will be the catalyst for their victory over South Africa when the meet on November 17.

Musa said: “Next month we are going there even for a point. We remember what they did to us in Uyo. We are going there for revenge. South Africa are under pressure not Nigeria.”
