Zlatan Ibrahimovic and David Beckham are said have made a provocative bet ahead of Sweden’s clash with England.
It’s going to be a high mouth watering encounter with both England and Sweden vying for a place in the semi-finals at the World Cup.
Meanwhile, outside the pitch is a high stake between two giants on whose country will emerge winners.
Former Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who has represented Sweden in 166 appearances, has called for a bet between him and the former England captain David Beckham.
He posted on his Instagram, (Yo @davidbeckham if @England wins I buy you dinner where ever you want in the world, but if Sweden wins you buy me whatever I want from @IKEASverige ok?)
While former Real Madrid player Beckham replied (If Sweden win I will personally take you to Ikea and buy you whatever you need for the new mansion in LA, but when England win I want you to come watch an England game at Wembley wearing an England shirt and enjoy fish and chips at half-time).
However, since it has been open to the social media, football supporters will make sure the loser does as agreed.
Meanwhile, England manager Gareth Southgate, 47, has vowed that England must (make the most) of their World Cup opportunity, but warned his players against looking down on an “older, more experienced” Sweden players.
Southgate said, (You have to enjoy the good moments, but I am a long way from perfect, there are plenty of mistakes we have made while we have been here and we will make moving forward, so I think it is dangerous territory if we get carried away with things).
He also added that (Although our team will be better in two years with more life experience, maybe the cards on injuries and things won’t fall as kindly and we won’t get this opportunity again. It’s dangerous if I start to get carried away, but I’m proud of the way we’re playing).
All eyes are on this encounter between the two teams and also to see who amongst the two Ex-players on who will come out the winner.
